Description :

IL-2 is a powerful immunoregulatory lymphokine produced by T-cells in response to antigenic or mitogenic stimulation. IL-2/IL-2R signaling is required for T-cell proliferation and other fundamental functions which are essential for the immune response. IL-2 stimulates growth and differentiation of B-cells, NK cells, lymphokine activated killer cells, monocytes, macrophages and oligodendrocytes. Recombinant human IL-2 is a 15.5 kDa protein, containing 134 amino acid residues including one intrachain disulfide bond.

Stability :

The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20⁰C. Reconstituted IL-2 is stable for at least 3 months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20⁰C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Purity :

Greater than 98% by SDS-PAGE gel and HPLC analyses.

Endotoxin Level :

Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per µg (1EU/µg).

Biological Activity :

The ED₅₀ as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of murine CTLL-2 cells is ≤ 0.1 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of ≥ 1 x 10⁷ units/mg.
